Review of Nine Months
Nine Months: The Story of Wilbur by Tania Tomyn tells the story of a sweet dog named Wilbur and the time he spent with his family. Tania and Aaron are already pet parents to a Shih Tzu named Hank and decide to adopt another rescue dog, Wilbur (nicknamed Willy), a sad and adorable little pup from the rescue center. Initially, Wilbur's snorts and snores were troublesome, which made Tania question her reason for adopting him. Slowly but steadily, they adapted to his snores. Wilbur's stay with the family was filled with unconditional love, joy, spa days, adventure trips in an RV, experiencing snow for the first time and endless pain due to his medical condition, and many visits to the vet, where they found out that Wilbur had degenerative heart disease, which caused the valves on both the left and right sides of the heart to wear down over time and needed surgery.
Tania has brilliantly captured the nine months of Wilbur, along with all the emotions she went through at the time. Each chapter is titled after a month of Wilbur's life and his time with the family. The book is filled with photos of sweet Wilbur with his family and other dogs that the author adopted along the way, which made the story stand out and made me emotionally connect with her story.
Wilbur's journey from a sad and abandoned rescue pup to a joyful animal with unconditional love was inspiring to read. This is a short but impactful story of love and loss. An emotional and beautiful journey of caring for this sweet dog in the final nine months of his life will deeply resonate with all pet parents who have lost a pet. Reader's discretion is required as the book contains a brief description of the death of a beloved animal, which may cause distress to some readers.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars, as there is nothing that I dislike about it. The story of Wilbur will bring joy and tears to every reader, especially pet parents. The book is exceptionally edited, as I could not find any errors, which made for a seamless read. Being a pet parent myself, I went through all the emotions along with the author, proving that a dog is more than just a pet.
I would recommend this book to all pet parents, animal lovers, and every person to adopt or rescue a pet and experience the joy of unconditional love and bonding that these animals bring to our lives.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. And yes the title Nine months can be pretty confusing but it was worth a read, especially if your a pet parent.Bettny Andrade wrote: ↑16 Nov 2023, 21:00 Before reading your review I was sure it would be a book about motherhood and pregnancy. Now I know that the story is about something very different, and I think if I read it I'm going to cry. It would be great to read it.
