E. Alan Fleischauer's book Reconfigurement highlights the importance of retirement planning at any stage of life. The author has an array of financial industry experience. In his capacity as a retirement planning advisor, he saw that most people frequently overlook retirement planning, especially the financial side of things. Alan's goal in writing this book is to help his readers understand that everyone needs to have a good plan in place to deal with the issues that come with retirement. He has given the readers the knowledge to help them plan and behave appropriately. For the purpose of creating their retirement plans, the author has provided the readers with some clear instructions and astute financial advice.

Alan redefines retirement as a "turning point" for achieving one's goals and objectives. He advises his readers to take career assessment exams, find their calling, and then either pursue it as a side gig or a fitting job. In addition, he encourages readers to follow their passions after retirement. A true value-added element of the book is the access to self-assessment exams that offer a chance for self-discovery.

The book covers all the necessary topics regarding retirement, yet it is quite clear-cut and concise. The author has cleared up certain myths and provided a simple explanation of financial concepts. The book is made interesting with quips, jokes, and tales scattered throughout; they were like the cherry on top.

The author's expertise and thorough investigation captivated me. I liked how Alan reviewed all of the options and terms of application, examined the advantages and disadvantages of every investment, and examined social security, life insurance, employee benefits, protection options, and so forth. Alan does this by leveraging his knowledge to help his readers make informed decisions and maximize benefits. I particularly love how he backs up his arguments with relevant data, facts, figures, and statistics to help readers make informed financial decisions. I don't think there is anything negative about this book or anything that I would like to change about it.

I think this book is professionally edited, as I couldn't find a single flaw in it. I would rate this book five out of five stars, as I found it informative and interesting.
