I love Poppy Mortimer! She is a modern feminist and a fun-loving adventurer. She holds nothing back in her memoir as men from her dates display outrageous and unattractive qualities. Her one-liners are epic! I especially loved the descriptions of her time spent in different countries and the fun activities she does alone and with friends.

The book draws you in, makes you laugh, and is very relatable. Poppy is always open to seeing the best in people and agrees to go on some pretty outlandish dates. During the dates, you get to see what a quirky and admirable individual she is. From her passion for animals, personality, and authenticity, it is not a surprise she attracts a lot of attention from men. Unfortunately, the men she attracts for these dates are so ridiculous and narcissistic that, amazingly, she is open to future dates.

Many times I laughed out loud and wondered how she managed to continue the date(s) instead of making a run for it. I loved her quirky slang. She refuses to swear and the writing is quick and rewarding. This could be one of my new favorite books. A great book not only for women but also for men. I am appreciative of her disclosures of the bad behaviors she encountered. The fact that people on these dates with her believe their behavior to be acceptable is something the world needs to see in order to rectify how women are treated. In this way, her book has a feminist take on what women endure in the dating world and how they should be treated. I cheered her on every time she said enough and I don't deserve this treatment.

Overall I would give the book a five out of five stars for my review. I loved it! The layout was straightforward. Each date is a new chapter starting with location and age, how they made the date, and how the date went. The end of the chapters are lessons learned and insight. Honestly, there is nothing negative I have to say about the book. From tandem bike dates to sunset beach walks, her dates are creative and fun. I would read it again!
