This book follows the dating life of the author, Poppy Mortimer, who has been seeking love, but it has been found in all the wrong places. She lived and worked in her beloved Melbourne, Australia, and had horrible dates in Britain, Australia, Los Angeles, and back to Australia. She has experimented with traditional methods, such as in-person meetings, and non-conventional methods, such as speed dating and adding dating apps just for good measure. Rather than allowing her experiences to bring her down, she has used them to create a collection of stories highlighting cautionary and warning signs while still being funny and educational. Poppy's ever-optimistic romantic side won't give up searching for her ideal match.

There are several aspects of this book that I loved. I laughed aloud and pondered how she kept going on the date(s) rather than running away. Her strange slang was hilarious. Her writing is fast and satisfying, and she doesn't use much profanity. Her revelation of the negative behaviors she experienced is greatly appreciated. The world has to see that the people going on these dates with her think their actions are okay to change the way women are treated. Her book offers a feminist perspective on women's experiences in the dating world and how they ought to be treated. The insights presented at the end of each chapter helped us understand the views of the author on her date.

Overall, this book offers a humorous yet insightful perspective on modern dating. This memoir is unique because it combines clever observations about dating motivations and the difficulties faced by contemporary women with hilarious brilliance.

There is nothing I disliked about this book. Hence, I would give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I found this book to be professionally edited, as I didn't find a single error in it.

I would suggest this book to anyone who wants to read something that perfectly blends hope, humor, and fun.
