The book describes a lot of activities that shaped the author’s life, encompassing relationships, career challenges, and his remarkable journey of recovery after a near-death experience. It is a story of love, loss, and the fighting spirit that propels one forward.

I like how the author’s story is told in the book. There is no bias, as the author takes full responsibility for his actions by detailing every event without trying to sugarcoat it. The author's exploration of societal expectations during his youth is something I also liked. Detailing his social life and the transformation of his personalities and attitudes over the years shows the real truth that nothing is set in stone and we are just all products of external circumstances and ingrained characteristics. Additionally, the way his familial relationships, connections with friends and women, and separations are detailed and told adds to the honesty of the book, which is something that I adore in good biographies.

There was nothing I disliked about this book. Everything about the book is a perfect fit. This is the author’s debut memoir, and all I can say is that I am very impressed. The memoir was written professionally, without negative aspects, like the author has written several books before.

There are no errors in this book. I did not find any while reading. It was exceptionally well edited. With every positive thing I have said about this book, it is probably obvious that the book gets a perfect rating from me. I am rating Trouble Ain't Nothing But a Word by Paul O. Scott 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend this book to people who love biographies and personal stories.

A young man growing up as a Scientific Christian has never had a more eventful life as this one. The upbringing is as simple and filled with challenges like any other childhood. As he is one of the 6 children in his immediate family he finds comfort in being guided by his older brother and mother. No event is short of struggle for Paul O Scott.

His upbringing together with his three brothers and two sisters sounds a lot similar to any other black American family's upbringing . His father who taught him so much before he made many excuses for not being around, came home one day drunk as a camel. He saw his father take out a few dollars that wouldn't even last them a month's worth of groceries. Clearly he had lost his job. The boys succeeded his duties by taking care of the farm.

His mother encouraged deeply that they maintain going to church. Reminding them of scriptures daily to meditate upon. Their faith and belief amongst each other was the only thing that kept them optimistic.

This memoir is nothing short of teaching about obstacles and resilience. Their family's love for one another was stronger than anything. In loss and disrespect, racism and triumph they had each other and that is a great lesson you can ever teach your children while still alive. 5 out of 5 rating for this piece of perfection.
