Review of Niching Up
Niching Up by Chris Dreyer is a book that talks about what niching is in the business world as well as its many pro's and cons. He clears up the many stereotypes and popular notions about how niching affects one's business opportunities in their field of work. While there are certainly some downsides to niching, the author has proven that the gains of niching can easily outweigh whatever losses are incurred, as long as one goes through the process of choosing a niche in the right way. With his experiences in the corporate field and even out of it, he explains how niching opened up many opportunities and gave him the chance to place himself and his company amongst many experts in the business world. This is contrary to the popular and widely accepted belief that niching reduces business opportunities, hence reducing chances to earn more and make more revenue. From the case studies in this book, I noticed that the applications of niching extend outside corporate instances. Don't you think that it'll be very interesting to see how one can niche in their personal life? If so, then don't hesitate to read this very educational book by Chris Dreyer.
I very much enjoyed reading this novel for various reasons. The author has an interesting sense of humor and has a very light way with words, making everything that was mentioned much easier to understand. While reading, I came to understand that the author is a very diligent individual who has many experiences of success and some failures, which give even more credibility to his words. This book was written in a way that encourages readers to strive to work hard and always be in the game with a goal to win to learn, or learn to win. He gave some case studies that showed that niching is effective even in areas outside of business.
Furthermore, I have nothing negative to mention about this book. That is just how good I believe it to be. From my viewpoint, this book gives fresh insight on the benefits of niching, and I learned a great deal from it. I believe that more people who read this book will come to share this opinion, and I am glad that I read this wonderful piece by the author.
This was an excellent read. It was both helpful and entertaining in more ways than one. I would gladly say that it is worth a perfect 5 out of 5 star rating.
I would gladly recommend this book to those who, in my opinion, seemed to be the obvious target audience. This audience comprises individuals in the corporate sector. Both product and service providers alike can benefit from their own different types of implementation of the book's principles. I also came to agree that niching can be applied to other areas like sports, skill acquisition, and maybe even academics. On that note, this book can help many others in and out of the corporate sector.
