[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "More Than Just Talk" by Patti DeNucci.]
I could remember vividly when I was in school. I was a very fun person to be with, always talking. I had this financial challenge one time, and I locked myself in my apartment, not wanting to talk to anybody. It continued until the third day, when it seemed like I was seriously sick; I couldn’t even think straight. I said to myself that I needed to go out and converse with people. As soon as I stepped out and began to converse with my neighbors, I began to get myself. Conversation is therapeutic and makes one feel alive. In this book, we are going to talk about conversation in great detail.
More Than Just Talk by Patti DeNucci is the title of this book, and it is divided into sections, but I would like to talk briefly about the first sections, which would get us set for other amazing sections of this book. The first section has to do with understanding the benefits of good conversation. First of all, we see how conversation would help stimulate our brains and lift our mood. The author gave an instance where one is yelling at a kid, suddenly meets a neighbor or someone, and begins to smile. This changes the entire mood. Continuous conversation would help stimulate our brains and put us in a happier mood. You can also get an opportunity through conversation. The benefits of a good conversation are endless. In this book, you will learn how to hold an engaging conversation and more. Grab a copy.
This book is very easy to flow with, as it is very relatable and dwells on a general concept that we face daily. Being someone who loves conversations, this book taught me a lot, and I believe from now on I will be better at conversing. The approach the author used in writing this book made it very easy for anyone who is planning to improve their mode of conversation to catch up, as it had practical follow-up sections and also motivating write-ups. This book would be beneficial to everyone, regardless of how bad or good they are at engaging in conversations. I was so happy again because I would save myself the stress of lecturing my boring friends about how to engage in conversation; this book would do the magic real quick.
The only thing I disliked about this book was its voluminous nature. Books like this would be more appealing if the volume was not large, as its audience is broad and not all of them enjoy reading voluminous books. This is my personal observation and does not affect the general nature of this book.
Following the positives above, I would rate this book five out of five stars. Conversations are not limited to a particular class, race, or group of people, so therefore, this book is a perfect suit for all adult readers.
