Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer delves deeper into the idea of planning ahead, being financially stable, and enjoying your life at any age. This book shows how retirement isn’t a nightmare people should be wary of, or a fleeting dream many won’t be able to achieve. Instead it tells you to enjoy your life no matter what age you are and keep finding the things you love to do.

I love this book. The pacing of the book was perfect, not too slow, not too fast. The author did a wonderful job showing how excited he was in telling his discoveries to the readers, and it made the whole reading process really enjoyable. The narrative chosen made it fun and interesting, it didn’t feel like reading a book, and instead it felt like talking to someone who was so excited at the prospect of you taking a new step in your life. Alan summed up his knowledge and experiences in a way that made talking about retirement fun. Usually, even before the pandemic, the idea of retirement felt like the end of the line, it felt like your life is over when it actually isn’t yet. Alan managed to shift that perspective using a more exciting approach, and changed the idea of retirement being the end of the line into something that could be the start of something new, something fun and something well loved by anyone.

I am giving this book five out of five stars. I really enjoyed reading this book and don’t have anything that I don't particularly dislike and I found no typos. I’d recommend this book to not only those thinking of retirement, but also to young adults who are preparing to enter the workforce. I think they can learn and take a lot of things from this book to prepare themselves and also to remind them that at any point of their lives, they shouldn’t be afraid to change the direction of their careers.
