Karmic Selling by Stan Gwizdak is first and foremost about the “however-I-can-help” mindset approach in business, whether it is with potential clients, new clients, or clients who have become business friends. Gwizdak has held leadership positions in the corporate world and in 2005, formed his consulting firm, The Kormac Group.

His book, Karmic Selling, draws on his considerable experience in the business world, using Karmic philosophy to help people find solutions to their business challenges. The term Karmic has its roots in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. It refers to doing good and receiving good in return. In his book, Gwizdak writes about and reinforces the basis of Karmic selling: how to make connections with potential clients from all kinds of companies and help them solve their business challenges authentically and credibly.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Stan Gwizdak’s book Karmic Selling because his insights into Karmic philosophy can be applied across the business world, and also to professional and personal relationships.

I liked the practical nature of the book’s organization. Gwizdak writes about the however-way-I-can-help attitude from the outset. Subsequent chapters focus on specific areas: making connections, doing background research on a potential business client, conversations, taking notes, follow-ups, and growing the circle of business clients and friends. Every chapter has a quote that Gwizdak refers to later on in the chapter. In every chapter, there are specific case studies, anecdotes, examples, and write-ups by the clients who remember how Gwizdak helped them. I think the Reflection Exercises were outstanding as they provided step-by-step guidelines and summarized specific focus areas.

I particularly enjoyed the chapters about conversations, careful listening, learning about a client’s current challenges, and the details of everyday life that get interwoven into conversations: a person’s cultural background, hobbies, or a family vacation. This is about getting to know people, and building connections and friendships!

I’m rating Karmic Selling 5 out of 5 stars because I liked how Karmic Selling by Stan Gwizdak turned into a self-reflection book for me, about how a mindset of helping others is important in all areas of life – be it business, professional, or personal relationships. This is a well-written and well-organized book. I liked the table of contents with its specific titles, enabling me to review easily specific areas of the book. However, I would recommend using bold font and increasing the font size of the quotes that start every chapter because the quotes are connected to the contents.

Finally, I loved the book’s cover, which shows the palm of a hand holding a seedling in a handful of soil, conveying beautifully the how-can-I-help approach to solving problems as well as growing and nurturing relationships.

Hi Ken, I also reviewed this book and agree with you 100%; I found it excellent, not just as a sales tool but in the way we interact with everyone in our lives. Yes the section on personal conversation resonated with me, getting to know your client at that deeper level really helps to create the bond, and business naturally flows. Your review is awesome.

Much credit for insights and practicality. Too many books are written with pie in the sky. Sounds like this author really tried mightily to bring his perspectives to fruition and make them applicable to daily life. Love that.
