Niching Up is a terrific book for any current or future business owner. The author, Chris Dreyer, uses his own experience as a business owner to show other business owners how to find their passion and make it into a career. He focuses on how becoming an expert in a niche field can be more prosperous and satisfying than just owning any business that does a little of everything. By focusing on one area, you become an expert. By becoming an expert, if you are good at your job and offer great customer service, people will acknowledge your expertise and should be willing to pay you what you are worth.

This book is a great reference for anyone interested in business. As a small business owner of a niche business, this book serves as a great reminder of the importance of knowing your stuff, captivating your audience, and growing your business to its full potential. This is a book that I will save and reread; even while reading it now, I felt the need to take notes. The book has great practical ideas for a business owner to put into practice. It is also a good reminder for business owners to use their talents and expertise to make their businesses successful. Too many businesses cast a wide net to try to get any business they can; however, this often leads to failure when businesses cannot fully satisfy their customers.

I rate this book 5 out of 5. This is one I will read repeatedly and would enjoy reading an enhanced or updated version in the future. I would recommend this book to business owners or managers, and anyone who is interested in opening a business. I would not recommend this book to the average person as its themes are very specific to the business field.
