The In-Between by Christian Espinosa is a nonfiction book. This book tells the author's experience of balancing his life, both in micro and macro moments. An accident made the author realize the importance of being present in the moment and how micro-moments make him feel joyful, connected, and purposeful. What can make the author experience a moment of awakening, which is the beginning of change?

I was already interested when I read the prologue; I could even say that when I read the synopsis of this book. This book made me realize that if we focus too much on lists, whether to-do lists or goal lists, it makes us forget moments, for example, micro-moments that we consider just passing by. Routines and responsibilities make us sometimes live in auto mode. When reading this book, I remembered my goal to 'live and be present', to appreciate every moment.

What I like in this book is the author's honesty in sharing all his experiences and thoughts so that it gives me insight. The author wrote clearly about how he could achieve these thoughts given the existing situation. The part that I like is when the author writes tips for facing a situation. I took quite a lot of notes while reading. What I don't like is the writing timeline, which is sometimes confusing. The timeline going back and forth made me have to go back to confirm the timeline order. But that doesn't affect the content of the book; it's more about personal taste.

Overall, I am very satisfied with this book, and after reading it, I gained a lot of insight. I found no typos, so I think it was well written and professionally edited. So I'll give it 5 out of 5 stars. After reading this book, I was interested in reading the author's first book, Smartest Person in the Room.
