"Karmic Selling," written by Stan Gwizdak, is a book that offers a refreshing perspective on sales, emphasizing the importance of trust and authentic connections in building successful relationships. The author opens up about his experiences as a child encountering 'salesmen', then growing up into a traditional corporate worker, and finally recounts a turning point, which is the car accident he got into that completely changed how he handled business.

The book challenges the notion that selling is solely about persuasion and closing deals. Instead, it stresses the importance of providing value and genuine help to clients. Unlike the traditional way of selling, where one simply highlights the advantages or edge of a certain product or service, the book emphasizes giving empathy, gaining trust, and thereby establishing lifelong connections. The author also mentions that even with this mindset, not everyone is in need or wants your help. Some people will be skeptical and will meet you with 'crossed arms,' of which he offers ideas to uncross them or leave it as it is.

The book is also filled with case studies—real-life events with people that the author met and helped along the way. The interspersed quotes and images in the chapters, particularly the one with the aftermath of the accident, made the book more real to me. It felt like this wasn't just another book about business or selling—it was genuine.

I also appreciated the book's power to inspire and motivate. The first time I read it, my attention was immediately drawn to the humane ideas it presented, rather than the cold-selling views. It left me eager to implement the idea of helping people however I could, not for the possible returns, but for the warm feeling it would leave me with. Like the author, I believe that good deeds beget good outcomes.

The book is carefully edited, with no typos that I have observed. I'm rating this book 5 out of 5 stars because of how well it combines an ideology focused on sincere connections and honest sales techniques with extremely useful business advice. Overall, it's a good read for people stepping into the business world and even for casual readers, as it has a lot of lessons to impart.
