Review of The Day John Fitzgerald Kennedy Past
In his book, The Day John Fitzgerald Kennedy Past, Welby Thomas Cox Jr. tells the story of the assassination of the former U.S. president, John Fitzgerald Kennedy. The author discusses the planning and the steps that led to it.
After the Cuban invasion, a plan begins to come together—a plan against the president—a plan so intricate that it takes months of planning and multiple professionals. A team of former military men and secret agents come together and begin to work on this plan. Funds are exchanged and the plan begins to take shape. A patsy is found and set up to take the blame for the entire event. However, when the number of members of the team begins to increase, doubts begin to arise. What happens to the initial plan of an attempted assassination? How does it sway?
I loved how much information the author included in this book. The footnotes contained a lot more information for the reader as an extended reading. This book also exposes how bad the justice system could get and I think it serves as a wake-up call to people. We also get to see things from the author's point of view. The author discusses important events, which raised my curiosity. I was thrilled most of the time.
I, however, had a few issues I noticed. First, there were a lot of characters and they seemed poorly developed. It was hard to follow them all, especially with the author using two names concurrently for some characters. Also, there was no clear demarcation between the characters perspectives. It did get confusing to have to confirm who was doing what. I also think the book would have been easier to read if direct speech was specified. I was disturbed by the sudden jumps from the past to the present. Without being clearly shown, characters would randomly show up in the middle of chapters or other character events without a blend or transition. This constantly disrupted the reading flow. Finally, I would say this book was not properly edited. There were countless errors in the book and several punctuation mistakes.
I give this book a rating of 3 out of 5 stars. The negatives mentioned above prevented me from enjoying the book as much as I thought I would. So, I took away a star from my rating. I took another star away because of the many errors in the book. I wouldn't take any more stars away because the author still deserves his flowers.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves American history. And anyone who enjoys nonfiction.

The author's extensive information is appreciated, with footnotes providing more information for the reader as an extended reading. The book exposes the bad justice system and serves as a wake-up call to people. The author discusses important events from the author's point of view, raising curiosity and excitement. However, there are some issues that the reader may have noticed.
Firstly, the characters in the book seem poorly developed, making it difficult to follow them all. There is no clear demarcation between the characters' perspectives, making it confusing to confirm who was doing what. The book would have been easier to read if direct speech was specified, and the sudden jumps from the past to the present without being clearly shown disrupted the reading flow.
Secondly, the book was not properly edited, with numerous errors and punctuation mistakes. The author deserves his flowers, but the negatives mentioned above prevented the reader from enjoying the book as much as they thought they would.
In conclusion, The Day John Fitzgerald Kennedy Past is a well-written and engaging book that provides a detailed account of the assassination of former U.S. President John Fitzgerald Kennedy. The author's extensive information, the author's unique perspective, and the lack of proper editing contribute to the book's rating of 3 out of 5 stars. However, the book's negatives, such as the lack of clear demarcation between characters' perspectives and the sudden jumps from the past to the present, may have affected the reader's enjoyment of the book. Despite these issues, the author still deserves his praise and would recommend it to anyone who loves American history and enjoys nonfiction.
