Review of Snatched Up to Heaven!
Do you want to experience heaven or hell, even in your dreams?
Yes.
Then this book is for you. "Snatched Up to Heaven!" by Jemima Paul (PhD in Christian Education) and Arvind Paul explores this idea. This book is about the dreams of their daughters, Priyanka, who is 4 years old, and Deepika, who is 2 years old. Interestingly, both have the same dream.
So the dream was something like this.
In which angels take these girls souls to heaven. They have beautiful wings to fly up to heaven. Jesus invited them to help him. The girls then describe heaven (in their beautifully innocent language), in which they describe the grand golden entrance of heaven, the golden walls, the light (Jesus himself), the rainbow, the street, and the fountains. They saw that even animals of different natures live together lovingly and peacefully. They do not hurt each other or other people. The girls did the plantation there, took care of the animals, and fed the small fish. And then they met Jesus and God. Girls have described his handsome look very well. They played with God, had fun, and ate a great dinner in a heavenly way. When they fell asleep, Jesus was awake and watching over them and the other children. Everyone's place in heaven is equally important. And the rewards of good deeds are also given.
Earlier, when both of them talked about their same dreams, their parents did not believe them. But as the girls continued to tell their dreams in detail, their parents began to believe them. Even though the girls were saying everything in very innocent, simple language, everything they were talking about connected with verses from "The Holy Bible." The girls described their experiences with heaven and hell. It is very interesting to think how they know so much about these subjects at such a young age. In this book, the author describes first the children's experiences and then her own research of Bible passages and related verses; we find similarity in both these things. As a result, the book feels interesting and slightly more realistic.
The author has not been in this field before, so book editing is not done systematically. But still, the book holds its path without breaking any link or the reader's interest. Some words in this book are in biblical language. According to the author, it is a requirement of the book, but readers may find it a grammatical mistake due to misunderstanding the divine words. I give this book 4.8 stars out of 5.
This book is an interesting medium for teaching children about "the holy Bible" and inculcating Christian ethics. This book teaches them about the consequences of right and wrong deeds.
But the important benefit of this book is that, even if we don't talk about religion here, this story can be helpful to give children an understanding of right and wrong and to give them the right direction in their lives. It inspires them to do good deeds and leads them to the path of humanity by showing compassion for animals and helping others.
In my opinion, this book is not only for children or the Christian religion; it should also be read by parents and especially grandparents. Because their stories show the direction of our lives. This book should be told to children as "Grandma's Tale!"
Honestly, I don't find any errors in this book. But yes, the languages used in the book—English and biblical languages (Hebrew, Aramaic, and Koine Greek)—may produce code switching.
