"The inner trek" by Mohan Ranga Rao is a compelling non-fiction account that dives into an adventure in the himalayas. Mohan, a fifty eighth years old retired man, provides a perspective, perils of high-altitude and experience on this journey.
The book chronicles mohan's vow to lord shiva because of his wife influence to visit manasa sarovar and mount kailash, because of his property issue. A series of events took place. From mysore to Bangalore, Delhi, Kathmandu, flying to mount Everest, Nepalgunj, Simikot, Hilsa, Crossing the border of Tibet, Manasa sarovar, and circumbulation of mount kailash.
Mohan's narrative is poignant and informative, offering readers a detailed insight of adventure, physical and psychological challenges faced by people who embarked on the journey to mount kailash. The author skillfully intertwine his personal experience with broader observations of mount kailash expedition and ethical dilemmas inherent in high-altitude.
"The inner trek" left an incredible mark on me. Mohan's story telling, combined with his introspective analysis of the events made a curious and emotional charged read. I whole heartedly rate this book five stars out of five stars due to its superlative portrayal of real-life exploration and the sheer brilliancein narratin storry telling, with the detailed event and personal experience set this book apart. The adventure unfolds with such precision, offering a compelling account of the challenges faced by the pilgrims. The author's meticulous research and attention to detail made every page an immersive experience. The plot being based on actual event, added an extra layer of excitement and curiosity, knowing that this incredible feats truely occurred. The characters being real individuals, were brought to life with authenticity. The author delved into their motivation, fears and triumph, creating connection that transcended the pages. One of the book's strengths lies in its exploration of uncharted territories and the risks involved. The author didn't shy away from detailing the physical and emotional toll of the adventure, providing a realistic and often awe-inspiring depiction.The book's impact extended beyond the adventure itself, it served as a lens into human resilience, the spirit of exploration, and the triumph of the human will. Every chapter left me with a renewed sense of appreciation for the power of courage and determination.This non-fiction adventure is a literary gem that seamlessly combines factual accuracy with the allure of a captivating story. For its informative value, emotional depth, and the sheer brilliance in narrating a true adventure, I unequivocally give it a five-star rating.
I am delighted to rate this book a solid five stars, not only for its captivating narrative but also for the impeccable editing that greatly enhanced my reading experience. From start to finish, the flawless editing was evident in every aspect of the book.
