Review of First Survivor
Where can we find hope for survival? Is it possible to maintain faith in the darkest of circumstances? I have always held firm to the belief that there is "light at the end of the tunnel," even when the journey seems impossibly difficult. There are moments when we confront difficult questions that can shake us to our core. What should be our attitude in such circumstances? Should we hold on to hope and have faith in ourselves, or should we run away?
I like the strong spirit wielded by Louis at points of new diagnoses; he remained calm amid all those troubles. The book is a powerful story of resilience and determination. The book chronicles the incredible journey of Louis, a young child who was diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma at the tender age of three. This devastating disease typically carries a zero percent chance of survival, but Louis and his parents, Mark Unger and Mary Ellen refused to give up hope. Did he survive? What did they find at the end of their tunnel? Readers will find answers in the pages of the book.
Through their struggles and triumphs, we witness the incredible power of the human spirit to overcome seemingly impossible obstacles. First Survivor by Mark Unger is a testament to the strength of the human will and the enduring power of hope, even in the darkest times.
Mark's narration is incredibly detailed and educational. He meticulously documented all the happenings throughout the trying time, leaving no detail unrecorded. The wealth of knowledge in the book is a positive aspect of it covering various aspects of the medical field and the treatments administered. Readers will appreciate the clear and concise explanation of medical procedures and terminology in administering the treatments. The book is a valuable resource for anyone seeking to understand the intricacies of the medical field during trying times.
There are no negative aspects to the book. I do not dislike the book. The editing is flawless. I rate the book First Survivor by Mark Unger 5 out of 5 stars. The reasons for my rating are above. I recommend the book to all neuroblastoma patients. The comforting message in the book will help the family of the patients.
