Review of Snatched Up to Heaven!
Finding no typos, misquotes, or misspellings, I gave this book such a high rating because of the spiritual accountability it provided to me. Any believer in Christ will feel a nudge in their heart to examine their motives and current sins. It's that good. The most amazing part is how the writers manage to tell their children’s story from an adult’s interpretation, without losing the authentic whimsy of a child’s vision.
It was a beautiful story and seems to depict how children will experience heaven. The beauty of the story is that it makes you wonder how God will tailor certain aspects of the afterlife to fit your sight.
Along with the beauty of the story, it’s Biblically correct. The writers reference several Bible scriptures to confirm what their children have seen. And as you continue to read, you will not want to put the book down. It keeps you wanting to learn more in hopes that it will answer any questions you may have about heaven. You soon forget that you are reading about heaven through the eyes of 2 and 4 year olds.
Even if you believe in heaven, you will naturally start to wonder if this really happened.
After the questions start coming to your mind about it being true or not, you soon realize that you must take God out of your box. Also, you realize the greatness and holiness of God. The book helps you to realize that it’s truly about having a pure heart. The underlying messages that is weaved throughout the book is that, God will reveal Himself and His kingdom only to those who are pure in heart. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” All the versions say it the same way.
Because the book is written from a child’s point of view and translated through the eyes of a parent, I believe that people of all ages can gain wisdom from it. It’s as if the children are teaching a lesson, which is another beautiful reference to the scriptures:
Matthew 19:14 says, “...but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” (English Standard Version)
Isaiah 11:6-8 says, “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; And a little child shall lead them. (New King James Version)
This was a beautiful vision narrated by adults but originally told by enlightened children.
God bless them.
