In "Actively Active" by Anthony P Prior, the author piles some amusing lyrical essays that represent his thoughts about many elements of our everyday lives, such as the nature of our societal standards, the complexities of being a landlord, starting anything right, etc. There are over 100 lyrical essays in the anthologies in the book.

I derive immense pleasure from the act of reading essays aloud, relishing the poetic essence that unfolds during continuous reading. The lyrical essays, in particular, captivated me with their playful exploration of the author's thoughts. However, amidst this enjoyment, there are moments of ennui encountered in certain essays, stemming from the difficulty in grasping the author's intended message.

To remedy this, I propose a constructive enhancement: the inclusion of a narrative description preceding each essay. By doing so, the author can provide readers with a contextual framework, ensuring a clearer and more accessible understanding of the forthcoming content. This strategic addition not only facilitates comprehension but also heightens the overall enjoyment of the essays. This thoughtful approach promises to amplify the impact of the essays, allowing readers to fully immerse themselves in the profound interplay of phonological, syntactic, and semantic elements, thereby enhancing the overall literary experience.

I could not find a grammar error in this book, as it follows the rules of its genre of writing. Hence, I will say it is exceptionally well-edited. The book is beautifully laid out on each page of the book. So, I will only be removing a star for the aforementioned shortcomings that the author could help fix. All these have been said, and I'm rating Actively Active by Anthony P. Prior 4 out of 5 stars.
