Out of the Uniform, Back into Civilian Life: No Nonsense Veterans Benefits Guide by Jason Pike is a wonderful guide that delivers exactly what the title promises. Readjusting to society and the problems it poses is always difficult, especially for soldiers who have likely been through multiple traumatic events. In a day and age where there is too much happening all at once, and it is easy to get lost in a sea of information while still somehow not getting the exact answers you want, this guide is a no-nonsense tool that will aid every American soldier looking to build a civilian life after serving time in the military.

I enjoyed that the book covers a diverse range of topics. From benefits such as education and housing to mental health, the author has clearly put in a lot of sincere thought and effort, and it is reflected on every page of the book. The book is short and concise, never wasting time and delivering as much information as possible. Sometimes, just seeing that someone else has built a civilian life and has such a vast array of knowledge can be encouraging to those just starting out on that very path.

A lot of other books contain great information as well, but when I saw that this book had included mental health as well, I was delighted. It is something that is not spoken about enough, as soldiers have very difficult experiences.

There was nothing that I disliked about this book. It was well-written, and I also found no typos or grammatical errors, which led me to believe that it was professionally edited. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars for its informative thoughtfulness.

I would recommend this book to former veterans looking to rebuild their civilian lives in the modern world.
