Review of Inner Trek
Nowadays, many people have discovered the joy of trekking in the mountains for various reasons. Some do it to test their own potential and capabilities, while others simply want to enjoy the breathtaking views from the mountain tops. There are also those who seek solace in nature and hope to rejuvenate themselves from their busy lives. In India, religious reasons inspires a lot of people to travel. One of the most revered religious mountains is Mount Kailash, where many believe that Lord Shiva resides and a visit there can cleanse them of their sins.
In the case of Mohan Ranga Rao, who tragically lost his daughter to cancer, he also lost his faith in the existence of gods. To add to his troubles, he finds himself embroiled in a property dispute with some mafias, which has become a life-threatening situation. In order to find a resolution, Mohan's wife, Mamatha, urges him to make a solemn promise before the Gods that if the dispute is resolved, they will fulfill their promise to visit Mount Kailash and Manasa Sarovar. After the dispute is settled, Mamatha, eagerly attempts to convince Mohan to prepare for their blessed journey to Mount Kailash as they had promised to the Almighty.
Allow me to provide you with a brief overview of Mount Kailash and Manasa Sarovar. Mount Kailash, located in the Tibetan region of Nepal, holds immense religious significance for various faiths such as Hinduism and Buddhism. Manasa Sarovar, a sacred lake, is believed to possess the power to cleanse individuals of their sins. Mohan and Mamatha plan to embark on a trek to these holy sites, despite the dangers posed by the challenging parikarma, which has resulted in fatalities and illnesses in the past. Will Mohan's perception of God undergo a transformation throughout their journey? Explore the captivating and authentic tale of Mohan and Mamatha as they traverse one of the most challenging mountains. While one seeks adventure, the other is motivated by a promise and devoted prayers to the divine.
Mohan took us on an incredible journey through his captivating book. His narrative style was clear and engaging, using simple English language that made it easy to follow along. I truly appreciated how he provided definitions for any Hindi and Sanskrit words used, ensuring that readers understood everything. The structure of the book was outstanding, and Mohan did an exceptional job in developing the characters. His choice of words to describe the places and people was superb, making it easy for me to imagine and feel as if I were there. Additionally, he included pictures that gave a glimpse into his experiences, and the ones of Mount Kailash were absolutely breathtaking. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the author's journey.
The author should've provided more information or explanations about the pictures in the book. Other than this minor detail, I have nothing but praise for this magnificent book. Mohan presented his life moments with such attention to detail. I would happily give a perfect rating of 5 out of 5 stars to Inner Trek: A Reluctant Pilgrim in the Himalayas. Furthermore, I was impressed with the lack of grammatical errors and the professional editing throughout the book.
This incredible book will captivate and resonate with those who have a deep love for trekking and mountains. It's a delightful read for both adventure enthusiasts and individuals who believe in the power of faith, as it beautifully portrays the challenges and triumphs faced by people in their quest to reach their destination.
