Joseph E. Keysor's autobiography, Light in the Darkness of Postmodernism, draws the reader into the author's journey through life. The book discusses his upbringing, schooling, and, above all, his Christian beliefs. The author shares his family's story with us, describing how he was raised without their affection or love. His parents were there to meet all of his requirements, but they did not show him affection or a sense of belonging. As a result, he turned to food, books, and radio for comfort and company until he met Christ. Although I don't suffer from my parents' neglect, this book truly made me aware of how a lack of parental love affects a child's growth and his mentality. The author went further to tell us about his education and everything that took place in the process. The admonitions of the Christian belief were a big eye-opener for me. He took time to break down the true Christian personality and what Christianity entails. This is a book you will find interesting and intriguing at the same time. You can find out the full details in the book.

The inclusion of different Bible verses for a better understanding of everything is one thing I found intriguing about this book. I remember penning down a lot of scriptures that are great weapons for Christians. I loved the fact that the author broke everything down so well, drawing the readers into being more engrossed. The language used in the book is simple, making it easy to understand the message the book is conveying. I must not fail to give the book credit for a well-edited work; the editing is top-notch.

The only little dislike I have about the book is that I felt it was bulkier than it ought to be. Most especially in the beginning, where the author took us down the lane of his family, some things could be cut out without having much effect on the book.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The author conveniently conveyed his message to his audience and was able to carry us along.

Christians should be the ones to read this book; there's a lot of insight they need to gain from it in order to understand who is a true Christian. People who are not Christians might not like this book, as it is mostly filled with scriptures from the Bible and Christian ideas.
