Are you someone who finds the Bible difficult to read and understand? William Davis has summarized the Old and New Testaments in this short book with clear and concise explanations. The Old Testament tells of the genealogical line leading up to Jesus’s birth and how their faith in God helped them, and the New Testament speaks of Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection. Although we are all sinners, we can gain salvation if we make the right choice. What is your choice? Read The History of Jesus: The Bible in a Nutshell by William Davis to learn what you must do to gain salvation and live a better life.

William Davis wrote this book to make people want to read the Bible, and I believe he has succeeded. He certainly increased my interest in reading more of the Bible. I commend William Davis for his writing style, which made this book seem like a story, not a sermon. One of my favorite lessons in this book was that it is impossible to hide from God because He knows what is in my heart. It was interesting to see how Jesus viewed money and why God sent His only son to die for our sins instead of an angel. This book may help many people learn that more than having faith is needed to live a Christian life and gain salvation. Each biblical character is fully developed, and their roles are thoroughly explained.

There was nothing I disliked about this well-written and professionally edited book. Each chapter and part flows smoothly to the next. There was no reason for me to deduct any stars, which justifies giving this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed reading it, and it increased my interest in reading the Bible, which I am ashamed to admit I have only read certain parts of.

This book is for Christians only because it summarizes the Bible. Anyone who does not believe in, or is not interested in, God should avoid this book. However, if you believe in God and want to learn more about the Bible and what it teaches us, you should grab a copy of this book.

I think condensing both the Old and New Testaments into a short and understandable story is one tedious piece of work. I'm delighted to see that, based on your review, the author successfully captured the essential teachings of the Bible. Although I was raised in Christianity, I'm not sure I believe in anything anymore. Therefore, I'll pass on this book. I still appreciate the details you brought to your review. Thank you!

Many people know what Jesus did. However, how many know who he was? Where did he come from? And still, fewer can tell the origins of his family line. Congratulations on the BOTD, and best wishes for future projects.

I understand the reason why the author wrote the book but I can't fathom why we can't find that information ourselves. Doesn't anyone who has the bible know what's in it? It makes me ashamed and lit on fire, what more treasures does he hide from our eyes? :oops2:

Thank you, William Davis. I read the whole New Testament when I was a teenager, and I learned important things. However, I have not yet had the urge to read the Old Testament. It is such a long book! Your book suits me fine.

This book has the information to properly put who Jesus was into context. People read the bible and adhere to their faith, but do they actually know who he was? Perhaps this book will help.

I'm not religious myself, but I did find the sample of the book to be very interesting. This is a nice review, interesting to know how the author approaches the bible, more as a narrative than a sermon. I must say, I feel like I would prefer to just read the bible straight up, but I can see the uses for an abridged version.

I enjoyed your review of "The History of Jesus: The Bible in a Nutshell" by William Davis. William has provided an important work here. For those who do not have the patients or make the time to read the whole Bible, this is a paraphrased substitute. Even though the work is focused on Christians, others who seek understanding may find it interesting and helpful.

Great review! Anyone that’s going to analyze the Bible should have a clear understanding of what’s actually going on. So, any resource that can accurately lay things out in simple, comprehensive ways is a plus to me.

I admit that I find the Bible intimidating; especially the Old Testament. And, even beyond religious beliefs, it's a cultural cornerstone, so I applaud that the author made it simpler. Thank you for your review.
