E. Alan Fleischauer's Reconfigurement: Reconfiguring Your Life at Any Stage and Planning Ahead aims to empower readers to take control of their lives, both financially and personally. The book emphasizes the importance of planning for the future, regardless of one's age or current circumstances. Fleischauer, a financial management professional, discusses various aspects of financial planning, including career assessment, investing, retirement planning, and navigating Social Security benefits. He also stresses the importance of living a fulfilling life in the present, encouraging readers to pursue their passions and maintain an active lifestyle.

The book covers a wide range of topics relevant to financial planning and personal development. He provides clear explanations of complex financial concepts, making the book accessible to readers with varying levels of financial knowledge. Additionally, he offers practical tips and actionable steps for readers to implement in their own lives. The author's writing is clear, concise, and engaging. He incorporates personal anecdotes, life examples, statistics, quotes, and humor throughout the book, making it an enjoyable and informative read. The book goes beyond simply offering financial advice. It recognizes the importance of finding fulfillment and purpose in life, encouraging readers to take charge of their careers and pursue their passions alongside financial planning. Fleischauer debunks common myths and misconceptions concerning topics like Social Security and investing, providing readers with a solid foundation for making informed decisions.

Some parts of the book were a bit confusing due to the statistical analysis provided by the author. The book focuses primarily on the concerns of middle-class Americans approaching retirement, which will make some readers not take some of the advice seriously. The author should, in some way, have made it for a broader audience because this is a good self-help book. Despite this, I still rate the book 5 out of 5 stars because it serves as a valuable compass, guiding individuals towards shaping their future, but the journey to reach their destination may require further exploration and personalised adjustments. The book is exceptionally well edited. It contains no errors.
