Review of The Solution is Political Revolution
[Following is a volunteer review of "The Solution is Political Revolution" by Jillion R Rising.]
The Solution is Political Revolution by Jillion R. Rising has illuminated dimensions of civics I scarcely grasped before, from the outsized influence of special interests to the systems of incentive and reward that guide the public and private sectors. Most crucially, Rising has underscored that citizens, despite competing backgrounds, share a common destiny. Effecting change requires engagement, education, and collective action, not violence or unlawful means. In this book, Jillion R. Rising illuminates the deepening gulf between rich and poor that now threatens the founding principles of equality and opportunity. The accumulating concentration of wealth in fewer and fewer hands is incompatible with a truly democratic society. Further, Rising warns of the steady erosion of civil liberties, often justified to protect against external threats. He argues that an unquestioning sacrifice of personal freedoms for the sake of security ultimately degrades the very liberties that define a free nation. Rising highlights the overreach of the surveillance state and the disappearance of privacy as cautionary examples of how technology unconstrained by ethical guidelines can encroach upon constitutional rights. His critiques underscore the difficult yet urgent task of balancing safety with freedom.
I love that by directly addressing unsettling realities, Rising aims to galvanize readers as active citizens who recognize their own power. His book serves as an electrifying call for participation in civic life, upholding the ideals of democratic governance. Through open and thoughtful discourse, not partisan rancor, he argues ordinary Americans can shape national policies to serve the public good rather than entrenched power structures. Revitalizing this united, reform-minded spirit epitomizes the solution Rising envisions to the challenges facing modern America.
A major strength of this book lies in its rigorous examination of the power structures undergirding society, from governments to corporations to billionaire dynasties. I also love how the author investigates conspiracy theories about sinister cabals manipulating events behind the scenes. Rising contends that wealthy elites and authorities have intentionally stoked division to protect their dominance, all while inequality and injustice intensify. He marshals copious evidence and statistics that compelled me to consider these facts to substantiate his bold assertions. I recommend this book to those who are open to political reforms, and I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. The book was well-edited, and I disliked nothing about it.
