As a young Armenian Christian, Marc grew up witnessing a lot of conflicts and wars. He knew he would have to leave the country and seek refuge in another country to preserve his life and that of his family. The stakes get higher when he gets married to his first love, Mary. In The Immigrant, Marc Boyajian narrates his story as an immigrant in a foreign country in a desperate search for safety and a better life. Would he find it? What prospects does the foreign country hold?

There are so many things I liked about the book. The book was professionally edited. It only had minor grammar errors, but overall, it was properly edited. The chapters of the book were also short. This made the book easy to read, and each chapter just focused on one idea at a time.

The Immigrant highlights the struggles and hardships of relocating from one's home country to a foreign country in search of greener pastures. Most immigrants face discrimination and difficulty securing well-paying jobs and accommodations. This book offers awareness about political and economic situations that force immigrants to leave their country. By relating these experiences to readers, hopefully, it makes for a more understandable and compassionate approach to immigrants. In Addendum 1, the author goes the extra mile to list out lessons to be learned from the experiences he and his family have had.

The only thing I disliked about the book was that I could not better appreciate certain events because they were not spoken about in detail but passively. For instance, in discussing the problems of growing up as a teenager in a conservative country, the author could have better discussed the challenges they faced and given examples. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. I give this rating because of the drawbacks I mentioned above. I recommend this to anyone seeking guidance on overcoming adversity and achieving success.

"The Immigrant" details Marc Boyajian's escape from Armenian conflicts with Mary. Despite minor flaws, it's a recommended, inspiring read.

The book's structure, with short chapters focusing on one idea at a time, enhances readability and comprehension. This deliberate choice by the author makes the narrative easily digestible, allowing readers to absorb each aspect of Marc's journey with clarity and depth.
