Review of My Miraculous Healing Journey
In his memoir, My Miraculous Healing Journey, the author delivers a powerful and captivating journey following a sudden discomfort that became his new reality. While he was placed on painkillers initially, he felt there was much to accomplish. A diagnosis showed he was in the most advanced stage of multiple myeloma.
Despite multiple rounds of chemotherapy and a bone marrow stem transplant, Enrique Bong received more devastating news: he only had three months to live as the cancer had metastasized in his liver and kidney. What follows is a revelation that you, the reader, need to read this poignant yet inspirational book to find out.
Reading this book kindled memories of how most households have lost their loved ones to this brutal terminal illness. It was impressive how the author turned the situation around in his favor. Despite his resilience, I remembered that even the mightiest have breaking points. I liked his holistic approach to fighting cancer as I remembered that health is the complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of infirmity (according to WHO). I was able to appreciate well-being more.
Enrique thoroughly envisaged how a supportive network of friends and family can impact our lives. It's a reminder that we do not live only for ourselves; we can draw motivation from those we cherish when we cannot find anything worth fighting for.
I award this memoir five out of five stars. There was nothing to dislike, and its editing was flawless. I cherished the author's humility in realizing that what he champions might not work for everyone and acknowledging that people shouldn't shun conventional medicine. Wholeheartedly, I recommend My Miraculous Healing Journey: Holistic Victory over Cancer to anyone grappling with any challenging issue or debilitating illness to check out this book. It's also a remarkable read for memoir enthusiasts.
