Review of Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book
Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book by KALLIOPE BARLIS is a self-help book that aims to help golf players improve their performance by utilizing techniques listed in the book. KALLIOPE BARLIS is a doctor of acupuncture, a licensed NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) coach, an NLP trainer, an NLP master practitioner, and a golf improvement specialist. She offers licensed certification as an NLP golf instructor. She, with the help of famous golf instructor Chuck Hogan, has written this book to help golf players improve their performance using NLP techniques developed by Dr. Richard Bandler.
This book is divided into three sections, namely Using Your Brain, Practicing Golf, and Playing Golf. In the first section, the author illustrates the use of NLP techniques in relation to playing golf. It's really interesting to see this new knowledge being shared. While reading it, I discovered that our thoughts and impressions have an internal structure that can be used to elevate our performance at play and in normal life. The second section talks about practicing golf using the techniques mentioned in the first part and also integrating some insights and suggestions from the authors into practice. The third section instructs readers to play golf using the internal and external strategies mentioned by the author.
There is a lot to love about this book. First, this book is written to be customized for private golf events. Second, this is written by a woman who is young, and the game she has written about is mostly dominated by men. The science of NLP and its application to playing golf is mind-blowing. I also like the simple, understandable style of writing and the fact that she did not use a heavy vocabulary. Last, she also provided very helpful illustrations in the appendix part of the book.
Though there's not much to dislike about this book except a trivial fact like the repeated use of different versions of the following sentence: 'the center of the clubface strikes through the center of the ball to land the center of the target'.
As things that I like about this book weigh way more than things that I don't like, as mentioned above, I am giving this book five out of five stars. I also did not discover any editorial or typographical errors worthy of mentioning.
This book is for those who are playing or want to play golf, as well as for those who want to read about the implementation of NLP techniques in playing golf
