As someone who has always had an interest in golfing, Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book is a guide that offers insight on how to achieve exactly that innovatively. Barlis went from being a novice to a professional player in 2 years; this is a testament to her focus, dedication, and passion for the game. She offers the steps she took in honing her skills. It masterfully covers the topics she discusses in her book Play Golf Better Faster with more examples, making it a must-read for the reader to soak up as much as possible. Barlis demonstrates how important it is to view golf as a skill that can be acquired.

As a golf enthusiast, I found this book to be inspirational. I enjoyed Barlis' minimal use of golf terminology, which makes the book accessible to everyone. I enjoyed her proactive advice; she shows the reader that the power is in our hands. She appeals to the reader to work on the actual skill development and mental strategies to play golf better and faster. The book’s size also makes it convenient to carry around and browse through on the golf course.

She explores neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), which I thought was interesting. Her connection between NLP and golf and how it enhances golf play also caught my attention. Her deep dive into it was intriguing.

I did not dislike any aspect of the book. I found it to be well-rounded and enjoyable. It is also well-edited.

Barlis’ tone throughout the book is assertive and kind. It is superbly written to be suitable for all golfers, regardless of their level of skill or familiarity with golfing terminology. It is easy to read and memorable due to the author's use of imagery; she creates mental images with her words, allowing the reader to visualize the green, grip the club, and sense the anticipation before swinging. It makes the book a truly immersive and enjoyable experience.

I would rate it 5 out of 5. Barlis is authentic, inventive, and exceptional; her unique perspectives are both stimulating and likely to spark transformation. The enthusiasm she exudes for golf shines brightly in all her writings. Everyone reading the book is sure to be mind-blown by how fruitful it is. Her writing is top-notch and can be tailored to fit everyone's play.
