Review of NADEEM'S JOURNEY
Sherine Anniruth’s book NADEEM'S JOURNEY is an emotional book that describes the young life of Nadeem, her loving son, who unfortunately passed away from a battle with cancer. This book is categorised into the non-fiction genre. I chose to read this book because I felt an emotional attachment to it as I came across the book cover. I strongly believe that the book cover tells you all you need to know about the book and whether it is worth reading. This book is heartbreaking, and therefore, I believe that if you are sensitive to this topic, I would not read it as it becomes increasingly emotional.
Losing a child is an unimaginable pain, and facing such a loss due to a disease like cancer is undoubtedly heartbreaking. This book opens with the author reminiscing about her son, Nadeem, and the cherished moments they shared throughout his upbringing before he unfortunately died from his battle with cancer. Nadeem emerges as a remarkable individual, characterised by his intelligence, love, and gratitude. Despite grappling with ongoing health challenges, he exudes resilience and maintains a deep passion for sports, especially cricket. His determination shines through as he achieves notable milestones, including becoming the captain of his cricket team and receiving numerous accolades. Through the author's words, it's evident that Nadeem's life was filled with love, respect, and admiration from those around him, particularly his devoted mother. The book celebrates Nadeem's bravery, courage, and unwavering spirit, showcasing the profound impact he had on those who knew him. For those seeking to learn more about Nadeem's inspiring journey and accomplishments, delving into this book is highly recommended. The emotional depth of the narrative is palpable, evoking tears and stirring hearts with its poignant portrayal of love, loss, and resilience.
This book boasts numerous commendable attributes. Firstly, its language is simple, engaging, and easily understandable. I found no errors in the text, whether typographical or grammatical, indicating a high level of professional editing and enhancing the overall reading experience. The author's writing style is distinct, infusing the narrative with a unique flair that resonates emotionally. Through the author's heartfelt words, I formed a deep connection with Nadeem, feeling as though I knew him personally. His medical journey evoked a strong emotional response, underscoring the injustice of a child enduring such hardships. My sympathies extend to the author for their loss. Moreover, the book serves as a poignant reminder not to take life for granted, as it can change unexpectedly. The emotional impact of the narrative is profound, evoking feelings of sadness and heartache. Overall, the book offers a powerful exploration of resilience and the fragility of life, leaving a lasting impression on its readers.
In relation to negative aspects, I did not find anything to criticise. There were no errors; the emotional message the author was trying to convey was evident; however, I will not go into it for the purpose of not giving spoilers. Also, the story in this book shows the emotion and sadness experienced by the author as she grieves for her son, who devastatingly passed away from cancer.
In summary, I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars. I loved this book. As I read this book, I found myself feeling every emotion. Also, the fact that there were no errors in this book shows how, despite struggles in life, you can still live life to the fullest. I recommend this book to medical professionals and those who enjoy reading books in the non-fiction genre.
