Roadmap to the end of days is a non-fiction book by Daniel Friedmann. Mr. Friedmann is a space science researcher and longtime student of religion who has a passion for reconciling biblical accounts with scientific observations. He does this by utilizing a biblical clock; thus helping young adults to put science and the Bible in correct context. This is the third book in his “Inspired Studies” series in which he focuses on Demystifying Biblical Eschatology to Explain the Past, the Secret to the Apocalypse and the End of the World.

Roadmap to the end of days sought to put answers to the questions; “Why we here, what is life all about and what is the purpose of existence?” The author uses the premise that there is adequate information in both scripture and history that can help; to place history in the context of God’s Divine Plan, to annotate the present landmark with respect to the End of Days, to comprehend the arranged scenario in which the End of Days will come about, to recognize the events that will precede the End of Days and to estimate the period of time within which the default scenario events are to occur.

The author postulates that time obeys certain cycles and history proceeds through six millennia corresponding to the 6 Biblical Days of Creation. Each millennium is further divided into six periods that, in turn, correspond to a Creation day. In this way, the author draws relationships between similar periods in each millennia. In his analysis therefore, the author devoted himself to studying the timing and meaning of historical events that occurred in related and adjacent periods in order to ascertain the meaning of present-day events as well as the outlook for future ones.

Roadmap to the end of days was able to successfully marry science and religion in a fashion that is very remarkable. To be able to present such high-value religious information in a historic pattern and a succinctly scientific manner is worth applauding. To do so in a volume that was neither bulky nor scanty is an effort that deserves to be hailed. Indeed, no one who picks up Roadmap to the end of days to read will have a reason not to read through to the end. The idea of frequently representing the historic information in tables was helpful in achieving this and this is lovable about the book.

Roadmap to the end of days leaned heavily on Judaic tradition but provided evidence from a more historic perspective rather than a religious one. The book was also careful to avoid drawing much information from post-Judaic Christian and Moslem traditions. This, again, was rightly so since the objective is to provide historic and not religious evidence. The matching of Gregorian and Biblical time, calendar and events really did catch my eyes and my praise. Of course, those who have read Daniel Friedmann’s previous books would not have been surprised.

I however disagree with the disclaimer when it pointed out that the material being presented was ‘only information’ and should not be used for planning (and the author was right in questioning his own assertion). This is because, the matter of how eternity unfolds in real-life as well as the manner through which one survives the events leading up to its unfolding and the aftermath thereof is an issue that should be given as much seriousness as life itself.

Roadmap to the end of days has been published in an epub format and this did not do justice to the numerous tables that were presented. The information in these tables needed much to be looked at but they appeared blurred and could not be stretched to enhance the views. The author and publisher would do a lot of service to readers if they consider publishing in a format that will make tables very clear and presentable.

I believe post-Judaic traditions of Christianity and Islam would have a lot to question on the conclusions of this book. I strongly believe also that other religious traditions; Eastern and Western alike would do same. I therefore recommend this book to all and sundry. In doing so however, I would quickly add that they should take note: the material presented is in a historic form and not a religious one. With this in mind I believe strongly that everyone will enjoy reading Roadmap to the end of days. I therefore rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.
