Niching up by Chris Dreyer is a book that is a niche in itself.
The book is based on the professional journey of the author, Chris Dreyer. It exclusively describes the pros and cons of niching in a profession.
The book is very detailed and focused on the subject at the same time. The author takes you into every detail about niching and not niching as well. The mistakes he made, the way he learned about the subject and how he narrowed down the market are part of this book. A lot of importance has been given to specialization and gaining expertise, which seems relevant and true as explained by the author. Dialogues from famous Television series also find their place in this book and the same have been used in a very intelligent manner. The author has expressed himself very clearly. He has simplified the hard work by the medium of this book. I liked almost all the quotes used in the book.
The writing is very engaging and the flow of the book is just about perfect. It is a very interesting read. The book may be very useful for people trying to set up their business. For people who already own a business, this might take them a step further for sure. The book focuses on a very specific subject but it is a page-turner. You would not want to put it down even if you do not find it relevant.
I would rate this book 5 stars out of 5. This book deserves a perfect rating for the reasons that it may be read by one and all, a highly recommended book, the flow and the writing are great, the hard work of the author is evident and the simplicity by which he expressed himself is remarkable.
