A Dream for Peace by Ghoulem Berrah is a memoir that narrates the story of the life experiences of the author, who was a well-known activist in Algeria and an Ivorian ambassador.

The famous activist grew up in Aïn Beïda during French colonialism. Berrah's father is Hamedi Berrah, who loved hunting. Berrah was privileged to attain formal education as he attended the College de Batna, after which he gained admission as a medical student at the University of Bordeaux. Berrah, being an activist and freedom fighter, kicked against racism and discrimination. However, he had some controversies at the university, which made him move to America to study microbiology. What could have transpired during his days at the university? Get a copy of the book to find out.

I found a lot of positive aspects of the book. I would begin with the author's writing style and narrative technique. I really like and appreciate the fact that the author narrated the story chronologically, and he also provided a background story to tell us the situation of things in Algeria during the French colonial rule. The author's story was really inspiring, and I must admit that the author deserves an award for not relenting in life despite the challenges he encountered and the fact that he was not from a wealthy home while growing up. I also like the author's perspective on things and how he respects both Christianity and Islam, notwithstanding the fact that he's a Muslim. I didn't dislike anything about the book because it was well written. However, it was lengthy, but I don't think it's a negative aspect because it's expected for autobiographies and memoirs.

I'm rating the book five out of five stars because of its positive aspects. I found some errors in the book. This shows that it was professionally edited. I recommend the book to activists and freedom fighters so they can emulate the life of Berrah, who promoted national peace.
