When The Dust Settled by Joe Potosi.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

This is a remarkable story of the writer's own life and how it progressed. The narrative begins with a portrayal of his family, including his dad, mom, and brother. It recounts the moment when his mother went into sudden labor at night, leaving him feeling numb and unsure of what to do, while his dad was also visibly stressed. Their neighbor steps in to care for Joe and his brother while their mother is in the hospital. Upon their return two days later, the parents are excited to hold the new baby, a moment their mother describes beautifully. The story then moves forward to describe the family's experiences taking care of the baby and the announcement of their housing scheme allotment, which leads to them moving into a new two-bedroom home. Joe eagerly asks if he will have his own room, but his mother denies this, and the narrative unfolds to depict the twists and turns in their lives after the move. It describes how Joe's mom decides to live with Tyrone, and Joe soon realizes that his dad will not be staying with them, leading to his deep longing for his father. As time passes, Joe's mom gives birth to Leon, who initially appears white but later changes color, revealing his true paternity. This revelation shocks Joe, who worries about whether his dad will accept Leon as his son. The narrative beautifully portrays Joe's emotional journey as he grapples with missing his dad and facing new challenges due to his mom's choices. The story delves into Joe's ongoing struggles and dilemmas, including his encounters with his dad after a long absence and subsequent setbacks. It paints a vivid picture of the ups and downs in his life and the complexities of his relationship with Tyrone, who may not be able to provide the love and stability Joe's family needs. Despite the hardships caused by his mom's decisions, Joe's resilience and determination to overcome his struggles are depicted beautifully. Overall, this narrative provides a captivating portrayal of Joe's life journey, filled with challenges, emotions, and, ultimately, resilience.

This book deserves full points as the author describes everything with such detail that it comes to life before your eyes. The narrative starts with his childhood struggles due to his mother's poor choices, but he never gives up and continues to persevere. His journey, from adversity to success, is portrayed beautifully.

There are no negative points about this book. The author narrates everything beautifully, from his childhood to adulthood, and you can truly empathize with the small boy and his relationship with his father. The book is meticulously crafted, with attention to detail in every scene. Editing is also well done, with no grammatical or spelling errors.

In conclusion, this is one of the best books available. It is a truly inspirational story of the author's struggles and how he overcame them despite facing drastic situations and lacking family support. Everyone should read it, as it not only justifies its name but also serves as a testament to the human spirit's resilience.
