Review of The In-Between
"The In-Between” by Christian Espinosa is a book that takes you through life’s journey. The author went through an accident that made him reflect on his life choices. The book divides life into two different stages: the micro and the macro. According to him, the micro-moments comprise events that seem unimportant yet have a significant impact on his life. In contrast, the macro moments indicate major events such as retirement plans or acquiring a new home.
The accident he experienced makes Christian realise how much he has paid less attention to those he loves and cares for due to a deep attachment to macro moments. This book discusses experiencing hard times, finding your unique self, and how a moment can suddenly change one’s life. The good thing I like about this book is that it teaches how there’s more to life than achieving major goals. Life is all about experiencing the moment and looking out for the little things in our daily activities.
Reading this book has brought a breath of fresh air to my subconscious. It’s highly necessary to take note of the little things that are important to us. For example, at the hospital, Christian has an urge to tell his grandfather how much he loves him and is grateful for his existence. However, he became too conscious of the people around him and couldn’t say anything until his grandfather passed away. This was something he kept regretting.
The author is an inspiration to readers, as they’ll be motivated to create a change for themselves. Again, they’ll keep looking for strategies for constant improvement. I like how simple and easy the author’s writing style is. His writing tone is highly engaging and hooks readers till the end.
I couldn’t pinpoint any negative aspects of this book. There are lots of lessons to learn from it, and it was edited flawlessly. Therefore, I rate it 5 out of 5 stars, as I found no negative aspects. I recommend this book to adult readers aged 25 and older. The lessons learned from the book will help them properly make the right choices in life regarding the people they love.
