Populations have deemed artificial intelligence an entity that aims to supplant humans. It is an era in which the notion needs to change and see artificial intelligence as a human companion, according to Denise Rane. In her book Artificial Intelligence Simplified: Navigate From Basics to Brilliance, Learn to Innovate Ethically, and Thrive in the Digital Age Without Prior Knowledge, Denise goes through the basics of AI that anyone should be conversant with before going into details on how AI has evolved. She explores how it continues to be used in different sectors, the challenges they have faced, and some future modifications that need to be made to ensure a future where AI can function optimally.

The main concept of the book stems from the comment, "I can't wrap my head around AI. It feels like this futuristic concept I'll never grasp." Denise has revolved around the elements of this question, ensuring readers are able to understand what AI is about and the possibilities it holds for the future. A major issue arising with the use of AI is how much it can be trusted or if it will be a human replacement. This leads to the issue of ethics in different fields. An example is patient confidentiality in the health sector. Denise explains how ethics can be reinforced through upcoming developments.

While the issue of artificial intelligence may seem complex, Denise Rane has provided an explanation of complex terms with easier ways of learning. For example, explain machine learning, a component of AI, using cooking recipes. This makes it simple to understand the "hierarchical learning process" of machine learning, especially in object identification, face recognition, and emotions. It can also be essential in medical diagnoses, among many other uses in other sectors.

Rane does not deny the existing challenges with AI and discusses the foreseen improvements like merging the Internet of Things (IoT) and AI. This is a great development that has tackled issues of great concern: ethics, AI trends on the horizon, big data, AI bias, and many others. In a future where AI is expected to evolve and become better, the concerns raised are tackled with priority given to big issues, including data privacy.

In an effort to provide enough information for those who need the basics of AI, the author ended up being repetitive, especially while discussing AI in action and the developments that have occurred and those that are to be carried out. This also raises the concern that the book mainly discusses issues that are of benefit to people interested in the basics of AI. The AI tools provided for personal development are generic and ones that are in use for most people.

I rate Artificial Intelligence Simplified: Navigate From Basics to Brilliance, Learn to Innovate Ethically, and Thrive in the Digital Age Without Prior Knowledge by Denise Rane 3 out of 5 stars. The editing is professional, along with the knowledge provided and the demystification of many aspects of AI. However, I would recommend merging some of the aspects and expounding some aspects for the benefit of those who are more advanced in AI.

Ethics, natural language processing, big data, etc. are aspects that are undergoing development and are bound to bring AI to new heights. This is a book that will introduce you to AI and how it functions. A worthy companion in a world that is rapidly developing.

The author simplifies complex concepts and addresses important issues like ethics and bias in AI. However, the review suggests that the book may be repetitive and more suitable for beginners in AI. Overall, though, it appears to be a worthwhile read for those interested in understanding the basics of AI and its role in the future. Evocative descriptions, brought scenes to life.

Insights on AI are always appreciated in a time when AI is all the hype. However, the book could've been better if it focused more on practical AI use cases or how you can leverage AI when selling products and services.
