Claude Phiri is a renowned academic, a seasoned researcher, and a published author. He has dedicated his life to coaching and training researchers across the globe. Throughout his years as an academic, he has coached many successful postgraduate students as they navigated their research projects. In Qualitative Research Made Easy, Phiri has compiled a step-by-step and comprehensive guide that discusses topics such as how to select the correct research topic, how to choose a suitable framework, how to conduct a literature review, how to structure the research methodology, how to collect, analyze, and synthesize data, and present and discuss findings. He further coaches students on how to defend their research and how to publish their work.

I have been contemplating pursuing a master’s degree since last year. Coming across this book was a sign to revisit the idea. I am no stranger to conducting research at the postgraduate level. However, in my previous experiences, I relied heavily on my supervisors for guidance. This book is a supervisor in the palm of your hand. The teachings from this book have stimulated my brain to conceptualize a few research topics.

Having this book is like having access to your supervisor 24/7. Phiri’s passion for research shines throughout this book. The in-depth approach of the book is a testament to his vast experiences as a supervisor, a scholar, and a contributor to the various fields of study and the world through research. I like that he not only focuses on scholarly research but strives to make a difference in the world by applying the research findings to real life.

I am delighted to rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. It is a handy tool that equips, directs, and guides one to conceptualize and conduct beneficial and purpose-filled research. The book was edited impeccably, as I did not find errors.

I recommend this book to all postgraduate students. It is a critical tool that will guide you through all the research phases and propel you to success. If you are contemplating pursuing postgraduate studies, I advise you to read this book. It will provide you with a solid template to work on when you finally delve into research. This book is also suitable for an audience whose work requires them to conduct research.
