Are You Love Smart or Love Stupid, written by Dr. Rachel Sims, is a non-fiction book on dating and relationships.

The book contains advice on relationships that is useful for both single and committed individuals. The book also contains myths related to relationships, deconstructs these myths, and shows reality. The inclusion of real-life incidents and examples also makes the point come across perfectly. The book also comes with a checklist at the end, so as to make people aware of the important things to do.

One of my favourite myths discussed in this book was "Staying together for the kids is best." This myth was explained in detail, and with the help of examples, it was shown that it was just a myth and not reality. This portion helped to make it clear that those people who live together just for their kids do not make the lives of the kids easier but more difficult. Children who live in households where their parents are constantly fighting will have adverse effects on themselves, unlike kids whose parents live separately. Through this, the author proved that divorce isn't a negative thing like what many project, but it's actually a way that benefits everyone, including children. This point is especially useful in a patriarchal world where couples are asked to adjust and stay together for their children.

This book covers almost all the topics related to dating. It even had a chapter on finances and mentioned how divorces occur frequently because of the same. Chapters like these are useful, and they give a better understanding of what one must look for in a relationship. The author's writing style also ensured that the content of the book was easy to understand. The inclusion of real-life scenarios made the topics more relatable.

There wasn't anything that I disliked about this book. I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I decided to give a full-star rating, as the book was an informative read and because of the above-mentioned reasons. This book is suitable for everyone looking to learn more about choosing the right partner. It's useful for both singles and committed individuals, as it mentions ways to repair broken relationships.
