There are books you read, and they leave a mark on your heart and soul. Not because of how beautifully written they are, but because of the message they convey. The book While I Can, by Jo Dibblee, opens with one of the most diligent statements, which simply says that everyone dies, but while you're still alive, have fun, speak out your heart, and most importantly, live a fulfilled life. In this book, Jo and Michael travelled miles from Canada to Mexico so that they could escape the winter season and enjoy the sunny beaches in Mexico. There were so many obstacles that prevented them from going, but they finally did. To find out more, please get yourself a copy of this book.

First, I commend Michael's courage and the bravery he shows while learning kiteboarding. After being attacked by a Portuguese man-of-war, I thought that he would never go back in the water again, but he did. He is also involved in a kitemare, and I was scared to death that he wouldn't make it, but he did make it. The best part is that he still went back to practice the same sport. But hey, he is a retired firefighter, so I'm sure that's where he got his courage from.

I also appreciated the author's giving and loving heart. I was touched when she decided to rescue the dogs and help the women and children in Mexico. Many people out there are drowning in poverty. They have the desire to make some money, but there are no jobs or anyone willing to hire them because they aren't educated. They end up struggling their whole lives and living in the poorest conditions. Helping them is the kindest thing anyone can ever do because it means you care for and love them.

There is absolutely nothing I disliked about this book. I found the author and her husband to be very daring and adventure-loving people. For the reasons above, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The book seems to have been well-edited since I encountered no errors while reading it. I recommend it to anyone who wants to know how to live in the moment and enjoy life while they can, because that's what it preaches.
