Poppy Mortimer's 28 Disastrous Dates: A (Mostly True) Humorous Memoir is a nonfiction book. The author describes her 28 awful but hilarious dates. Mortimer's 28 Disastrous Dates: A (Mostly True) Humorous Memoir is a nonfiction book. The author describes her 28 awful but hilarious dates.

The author recounts her dates, describing what she went through and the lesson she learned. She focuses each chapter on a date and how it went. In each chapter, she explains how she met the person, how the date went, and the lessons she learned from it. The author describes how each date helps with reflecting on oneself and how it can lead to finding your true self and the right partner you desire. The Memoir is more than just a compilation of entertaining anecdotes; it also examines the complexity of modern relationships. She talks about the vulnerabilities and social pressures faced by a relationship. Communication plays a vital role in developing a relationship.

The memoir depicts the challenges of finding true love and the importance of staying true to oneself. It's a guide for adults about what to do and not do in a relationship. The author focuses on finding happiness on our own. Disastrous dates lead to the self-discovery of the author. She does not lose hope and tries to find her true love. The book is engaging and interesting. The author has an amazing sense of humor. The book is fun to read and, at the same time, teaches you lessons. She says we should not try to change ourselves in order to please others.

There is nothing I disliked about the book. The book is professionally edited and does not have errors. I would recommend this book to teens and adults for dating tips and to watch out for things one should not do. I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars.
