Review of Finding Happiness & Purpose with Stage 4 Cancer
Finding Happiness & Purpose with Stage 4 Cancer by Annabelle Maurer.
Rating: 5 out of 5.
This is the story of the writer herself. It begins around the pandemic of 2020 and narrates how she earned a real estate certificate and started working seven days a week and thirteen hours a day. Remarkably, she landed her first deal just seven days after starting the job and went on to become the top salesperson from January to March 2021. She realized her hard work was paying off, but soon after seven months of rigorous work, she began feeling tired. A cyst on her right breast, which had been there for almost seven years, was growing significantly, and she knew it was cancer. Despite the pain, she continued to work for a few more weeks before undergoing a biopsy, after which the doctor expressed concern that it was cancer. As the pain became unbearable, she consulted a breast cancer surgeon and soon underwent surgery, hoping that the tumor would be completely removed and she would be fine. However, her oncologist suggested she had only one to two years to live, leaving her in shock. The news led her to contemplate ending her life, as her entire existence flashed before her eyes. Soon her chemotherapy started, and she beautifully narrates her trauma and fight against cancer. Her story vividly portrays the pain she endured and how she accepted and managed it positively. Through her journey, we feel the immense pain she went through and are inspired by her strength and resilience.
This book deserves full marks as the author not only tells her remarkable story after being diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer but also shares how she motivated herself, the suffering she endured, her struggles, and her feelings at every point. She reveals how she managed to overcome the trauma, if she ever truly did. Additionally, she poses questions to the reader about how to tackle such a terrible fate and how to stay afloat during difficult times.
There are no negative points about this book, as it beautifully narrates the author’s fight against a deadly disease, her struggles, and her journey to recovery. She doesn’t stop at sharing her own story but also guides readers on how to accept pain and illness, how to divert their minds, and how to find new passions and hope. This book serves as a complete motivational guide for cancer patients, but it is also beneficial for anyone struggling in life. By following the practices mentioned in the book, readers can find guidance and support. The editing is well done, with no grammatical or spelling errors.
Conclusion: This is one of the most inspirational stories everyone should read. It is not only a great story about her struggle against cancer, but it also provides guidance on how to fight against the odds and achieve great heights.
