"Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book" by Kalliope Barlis is a book that can serve as an excellent manual to teach and train you in the golf world. Whether you want to know about this sport or wish to perfect your skills, this book offers complete guidelines on how to learn golf systematically.

This book is more like treating golf as a science of the mind. The author has focused more on training the mind to yield better results. This does not mean that the physical aspect of the human body is not important in this sport. In fact, according to the author, the mind is the driving force of the body. It is the mind that trains muscle memory. Due to this, the author encourages readers and learners of golf to engage in positive experiences and not let negative thoughts take over their minds. The rationale behind this is very simple, and that is that positive thoughts help visualize positive things, which can ultimately be productive in realizing better results in the game. To get the best shot at golf, you have visualize it first in mind. It is just like when we say that imagination creates reality.

There are three things that I liked the most about this book. One is the use of neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) techniques for creating long-lasting positive change. The second thing is the use of the power of imagination to visualize oneself into the kind of golfer we want to be in the future. Why I liked it very much was because it was very much linked to the use of our meditative powers, which are mostly untouched by many of us. The third thing is the step-by-step practising techniques for golf given in this book, which can really help players become technically sound in this game.

There is nothing much I dislike about the book. However, if pictorial illustrations had been given side by side to the given golf techniques, it would have become much easier to visualize them. This is something I believe could have been improved.

The book was very professionally and exceptionally well edited; I did not find any errors in the book. However, there was one instance of profanity. Apart from this, the content, coherence, organization, and systemic display of information were worth applauding. It was very interesting to read this book and learn about golf excitingly through the science of the mind and imagination. Based on all these positive aspects, I would give it a 5-star rating and recommend it to all golf lovers and those who really want to brush up on their expertise in this game.

I never had the chance to play golf and unfortunately, I don't have the time to watch golf tournaments, as they take a lot of hours. However, I've been curious about this sport for many years, so this book might be useful to me as a proper introduction. Thank you for your great review!

It sounds like a different kind of approach to learning golf, and one that might be very helpful to athletes. I’m not a golfer, but this approach might be a good way to learn a lot of different things. Thanks for your review!

I enjoy playing golf. Yes, Barlis is correct in teaching that the mind is the driving force behind the body. Negative thoughts most definitely do ruin one's game. You summed it up well by saying that imagination creates reality. Neuro-linguistic programming harnesses the power of the imagination. Before I take a swing with the club, I pause and visualize my target to be ginormous in my mind's eye. You did a nice review for this handy book. :techie-studyinggray:

I reviewed Phobia Relief by the same author, and she also discusses NLP. However, I'm not a golfer, so this book doesn't appeal to me.

"Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book" by Kalliope Barlis offers a unique approach to improving golf skills by emphasizing the mental aspects of the game. The book leverages neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) techniques to create lasting positive changes, encourages the power of imagination for visualization, and provides step-by-step practice techniques to enhance technical proficiency. While the book is well-edited and offers valuable insights, the inclusion of more pictorial illustrations could have made it even more effective. Overall, it’s a highly recommended read for golf enthusiasts aiming to refine their skills through a mind-focused approach.

I have not played golf myself, but the idea has interested me as I am surrounded by some pretty beautiful golf courses in the area where I reside.
Considering your review, I appreciate what Barlis offers through this book, " Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book."
I wish to enhance my knowledge of this sport, and I appreciate that the content provides guidelines on "how to learn golf systematically."
I strongly believe that mindset is important in all aspects of life and I love that the author focuses on this in terms of developing the related muscle memory related to achieving success in golf as well.

Great review! The book is quite interesting. The writing and the development of muscle memory using the technique NLP were new to me. Your review was a beautiful read for me.

Mahad!

It is amazing how many book reviewers have gotten into golf as of lately. Perhaps I will review this book myself! Thank you for this great explanation of the text. It is nice to hear that it has been professionally edited and includes a description of golf from a 'science of the mind and imagination' background.

I really appreciate this review and look forward to reading more soon!

I have completed reading all three books authored by Ms. Barlis, which delve into the subject of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). I concur with your observations regarding the content.

While I have watched the associated YouTube videos, I have yet to witness the purported real-life transformations. All three books were encouraging and I believe that implementing the techniques requires a certain level of trust in the efficacy of the system, as well as dedicated adherence to its principles. This material shows great promise and would be a valuable addition to one's reading collection, particularly after perusing the extended version of the same.
