[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Fruit of the Spirit Health Journal: A Loving, Joyful, and Peaceful Spiritual Nutrition Experience" by Rachel Mareshah Morrison.]
“Fruit of the Spirit Health Journal: A Loving, Joyful, and Peaceful Spiritual Nutrition Experience” by Rachel Mareshah Morrison is a devotional based on the fruits of the spirits according to Galatians 5:22–23. The author discusses the full cycle of the spirit according to that passage: love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. This book discusses love and its attributes. The application of God's love in our lives as well as various expositions on self-love. On peace, the author explores the benefits of holding on to peace and joy. While we just carry on life with joy, peace can be employed in emotional healing and taking care of dire situations as we move through life. The pursuit of peace is also emphasized by the author, as it prominently leads to renewal of mind and strength, wisdom as well as strength. Follow this author as they discuss patience, kindness, and faithfulness in addition to goodness and so on.
There are several positives to the book. The author combines the chapters of the book with sessions on reflections and revelations, as well as an accompanying food menu and timetable. Most importantly, the instructions in the reflections and menu are in line with the discussions for that particular day. Similarly, the author did good work in charting the chapters and sessions of the book to match a day's reading while keeping each read as short and engaging as possible. Considering that this work is devotional, I find it amazing when the author accompanies the shortness of each day’s passage with an engaging stickiness. Rachel Morrison also accompanies the book with much-needed and related inspirational quotes and accounts. I would give the book five out of five stars, having found nothing I would consider my least favorite thing. Also, this book has no grammatical errors, another plus.
I highly recommend this book to lovers of devotionals and spirituality books. People who enjoy books on spiritual journeys would also find this book very fulfilling.
