Jonathan grew up in a dysfunctional family, and at an early age, he desperately looked for ways to relieve his pain and psychological distress. When he stumbled on MDMA, he knew he had found something extraordinary. This prompted his research as a psychology graduate into the therapeutic potential of MDMA, a Schedule 1 illegal drug in the United States. As an expert in MDMA-assisted therapy with over 40 years of experience, Jonathan Robinson explores the incredible healing potential of MDMA, or Ecstasy, in Ecstasy as Medicine.

Ecstasy as Medicine is a practical and detailed guide to understanding the importance and endless opportunities MDMA offers to the medical industry, especially in dealing with PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and other psychological issues. MDMA-assisted therapy is not only limited to treating mental issues but can also help in finding inner peace, joy, love, and a desire to connect with others.

Jonathan, through his career as an MDMA facilitator, has also helped many couples improve communication, express their feelings, and rekindle their connection. The author had gone steps further to include snippets of his client's testimonials while exposing strategies he has employed over the years that make his protocol much more effective than the standard protocol designed by MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies).

This book is an incredible guide for readers who have no idea about psychedelics, just like me. It breaks the controversial and negative publicity attached to psychedelics without forcibly imposing the idea on readers. The author kicks off his writing with a disclaimer that soothes judgmental and uninformed readers. Also, while heralding the transformative powers of MDMA, he also acknowledges the challenges that may arise from indulging in this form of therapy. The structure of the book was really helpful in guiding my reading experience. The book is divided into three parts, and the parts are briefly summarized at the beginning of each of them. The book was professionally well-edited. There was just a minor error.

There were no negative aspects to this book. It was highly educational and interesting to read. The author made the book easy to read and comprehend. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because of the above reasons. I recommend it to potential clients who are open to the idea of MDMA-assisted therapy for combating their trauma-based conditions or searching for inner peace and reconnection with others. I also recommend it to any reader who is interested in having a career as a professional MDMA facilitator or who is enthusiastic about health books.

Ecstasy has a negative connotation because many associate it with substance abuse, but this book argues for ecstasy's potential for healing. Make your own conclusion by reading this book.

I believe that this book was written to inform us (the public) about the potential use of Ecstasy as medicine. This book tells us that Ecstasy when use properly, with the right dosage, and with the assistance of medical experts, can be very useful to treat anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and the like.

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding drugs. They have been used for medicinal purposes for millennias. We believe we found better options now, so we don't touch them but did we? Congratulations on the BOTD, and best wishes for future projects.

I believe there are many drugs, including Ecstasy, that have health benefits if used correctly. The author brings light to this with this book about MDMA. Thank you for your review.

Great review! I had never heard anything about Ecstasy being anything more than a "party drug." This is some new information that could be helpful to so many people. My only question is, how do clinicians get the drug if it is illegal in the US? Aren't they supposed to follow the laws of this land? I'm sure that it is readily available, but I don't hang around with those crowds.

That's the most ethical way to present it, in my opinion. We need unbiased information to make the best decisions for our mental and physical well-being.
Thank you for your review.

This is proof that any medication can be used for good or bad. When used under the guidance of a professional, there are benefits to be found. The same can be said for prescriptions that are abused. When used in a manner that was not intended, they can cause more harm then good.

"Ecstasy as medicine" by Jonathan Robinson is really inspiring and insightful exploration of the therapeutic potential of MDMA (Methylenedioxymethamphetamine) . This is my first time reading this type of book. I find it really interesting and knowledgeable. The book delves into the history of MDMA research, its effects on the brain, and its potential applications in treating conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, and depression.

I’m glad to see that this is directly addressed though I guess there isn’t much of a way around it. Honestly, my own suspicions and concerns immediately arose when I read the title. However, when it really comes down to it, the use of any type of drug comes down to safety, responsibility, and accountability. As long as there is absolute clarity about that in this book, the subject matter at hand isn’t quite as surprising and more comprehensible.

One of the book's strengths is its emphasis on communication and connection. Jonathan highlights the role of MDMA in facilitating open dialogue between couples, showcasing how the substance can rekindle intimacy and foster deeper understanding. His strategies, which he claims to be more effective than standard protocols established by MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies), are practical and grounded in real-world applications.

This is an interesting review of an interesting book, Abraham. Like you, I never tried psychedelics, but I agree that this book is educational. And, like you, I appreciate that the author not only heralds the positive effects of MDMA but also acknowledges the challenges of using it.
