Review of Snatched Up to Heaven!
Snatched Up to Heaven by Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul draws its captivating storyline from Christian teachings. This book recounts the dreams and visions of their two girls, Priyanka and Deepika, who were taken to both heaven and hell. Their parents supplement these accounts with their extensive understanding of the Bible and the ability to effortlessly connect them to real-life situations. Despite your preconceptions about these two places, this book promises fresh and compelling perspectives on them.
By exploring dreams and visions of the children we gain an understanding of what is expected of a Christian. We also look at what awaits them after death. Various biblical characters such as Jesus, Noah, and Queen Esther are encountered in these narratives. The children vividly describe the appearance, the inhabitants, and the events that take place in heaven and hell. Interestingly, many significant Christian celebrations observed on Earth also take place in heaven. As per the children's accounts, God, Jesus, and angels possess special virtues and characteristics that make them want to go back to heaven. Conversely, the concept of hell is thoroughly explored. Christianity emphasizes that we are all children of God. This begs the question: what qualifies one to occupy heaven or hell? I will let you find out.
Several aspects contribute to the credibility and authenticity of this book. First, the authors accurately convey the children's dreams and visions in a language and style typical of their ages. Second, they quote and reference biblical verses without changing the original words and meanings. Lastly, the authors display their deep understanding of the Bible by expounding on complex verses and explaining them in simple language. Reading this book provides an objective analysis of the Bible, presented in segmented sections that trigger the reader's curiosity for knowledge. The authors present thought-provoking questions, enhancing the book's engaging quality. I admire how the authors bravely address the concepts that many people agree on and find harmless. Their perspectives on matters such as Halloween will intrigue you.
Here are the positive aspects of this book. First, the authors complement this book with tables, which allow the reader to make comparisons easily. Second, the inclusion of Deepika and Priyanka's drawings of heaven and hell emphasizes what they narrate. Third, the book is concise and insightful. However, the only thing I dislike about this book is the description of hell, which scared me a bit. I recommend that adults should go through this book first before sharing it with their children to determine if they can handle the contents.
The editing team did well; I encountered zero errors while reading. The dislike mentioned above is not enough to deny this book a perfect rating. I hereby rate this book five out of five stars because of the positives mentioned above. I recommend it to Christian enthusiasts.
