"The Move" by O.K. Johnson is an account of a Christian couple's faith-driven life. You may think it is a memoir, but as you read further, you realize it is both a memoir and a spiritual guide. It explores how the couple navigated their way through various trials while maintaining steadfast belief in God's plan for them.

The author begins with a detailed look at their life in Washington state, where Patti, his wife, worked in a high-stress job counseling soldiers with significant physical and psychological injuries. The core of the book revolves around the couple's decision to move from Washington to Northern Idaho. This move was driven by what they perceived as a clear calling from God.

Johnson does not shy away from discussing the moments of doubt, frustration, and fear that accompany their journey. For instance, Patti's chronic pain and the stress of her job add layers of complexity to their decision to move. His description of Patti's perseverance, despite her pain, highlights her strength and dedicated spirit. This makes her a compelling figure in the narrative.

The couple faced numerous setbacks, financial difficulties, health issues, and the emotional strain of leaving a beloved church community. A significant theme of the book is the concept of trusting God even when circumstances seem bleak. It is a narrative that speaks to anyone grappling with the uncertainties of life and the desire to follow a divine calling to trust God.

"The Move" has a steady pacing. It allows you to fully immerse yourself in the highs and lows of the couple's journey. Throughout the book, Johnson’s writing style is clear and sincere. He perfectly blends biblical references with personal anecdotes. This offers the reader a realistic and deeper understanding.

I am rating "The Move" with 5 out of 5 stars for its inspiring and relatable narrative. I really like the author's honest and reflective writing. It makes the book an authentic guide and offers readers insights into the profound impact of faith on everyday decisions. I find the book to be professionally edited. I couldn't find anything negative about it to make me dislike it. I gladly recommend this book to anyone who wants to grow in the Christian faith.
