My Double Rainbow serves as an autobiography of the author’s life over the course of two decades. John Darby compiles and imparts to his readers multiple personal stories, experiences, and memories. Living somewhat like the life of a nomad, we see how John journeys across the United States, relying on the compassion of strangers. This all transpires when he goes through a divorce, woefully leaving his beloved daughter behind. Though his life takes a plunge, we see how John is able to endure through his gratitude, his steadfast faith in God, his deep-rooted love for his daughter, and his philanthropic spirit.

I loved reading this book from start to finish. I love how, even though John was speaking from a Christian’s perspective, the message that he is conveying and the experiences that he has had are universal. The author had encounters with and built relationships with so many people from different walks of life. This gave the book the essence of diversity. The constant gratitude that the author expressed throughout the book was heartwarming and refreshing. It was admirable to see how the author was able to recount so many of his stories without having excessive pages or chapters. From a Christian's standpoint, I mostly loved how his relationship with God never wavered and how his dependence on God bore much fruit.

There was nothing to dislike about this book. Even though it was a short book, its content was engrossing. I love how the author didn’t depreciate the book by adding erotica or profanity.

I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. This book encouraged me to stand firm in my faith even through adversity and to count my blessings. Even if the reader doesn’t relate to any of the author’s stories, one can relate to at least one of the many characters. The book was easy to comprehend, and it was exceptionally edited.

I recommend this book to any living and breathing human being. Anyone can relate to this book, regardless of their backgrounds and beliefs, as the message conveyed is all-inclusive.
