The book Scale at Speed: How to Triple the Size of Your Business and Build a Superstar Team by Felix Velarde introduces the "2Y3X Roadmap process," offering a straightforward and strategic approach to achieving significant business growth. In the book’s introduction, the author recounts a trekking adventure in the Himalayan trails of Nepal. The author describes how the challenging task was accomplished step by step, in manageable increments, each with a motivating goal in mind, following the guidance of the trek leader. This experience taught the author the importance of breaking a journey into a series of achievable goals for the people they were leading. This unique technique inspired the author to create the business framework process '2Y3X,' derived from experiments, tested, adapted, honed, and then made accessible and practical. Author Felix Velarde claims that this technique is effective for startups with six employees as well as for larger firms, companies, and groups of companies. The author demonstrates how this program helps businesses achieve strong alignment and rapid growth, aiming for a threefold increase in gross profit within three years. The author also introduces the concept of a 'growth lab team' drawn from the company’s top performers and responsible for implementing the program.

The first seven chapters of the book describe the processes for developing and executing the special plan "2Y3X Roadmap process". The plan is based on the idea of establishing three targets: financial, quality, and culture. The chapters 'Customers,' 'Sales and Marketing,' 'Financial and Corporate,' and 'Processes' discuss their respective topics in relation to the '2Y3X Roadmap process', providing insights into understanding, examining, and recommending standard procedures. The chapter 'Bringing It Together' summarizes the key procedures presented, allowing the reader to firmly grasp the concept of the program. Another chapter, 'Emergency Planning,' guides entrepreneurs and companies on staying prepared for various emergencies, including pandemics and economic recessions. Finally, 'How to Begin' is the concluding chapter explaining methods for overcoming procrastination and seeking help from experts when needed.

I found the book Scale at Speed by Felix Velarde to be quite valuable. The author draws from extensive experience in various roles such as an entrepreneur, pioneering founder, CEO, chairperson, and consultant. He shares valuable lessons and key experiences from these roles, including some of his failures. The book effectively covers crucial aspects of business including people, customers, processes, sales, marketing, and finance. The author discusses important points of business strategies, from relations with staff, customers, and client companies to dealing with competitors. I appreciate the insights the author shares from many other books and authors. For example, he mentions "Smart and Street" as the best writers on the subject. The author's use of maps and charts to show the procedures required for the fixed growth of a business or company is excellent. For instance, the 'Full Strategy Map' shows tasks scheduled to achieve the goal of "company of the year - TT190." I also found the method of financial analysis regarding the growth and profitability of the business quite insightful. The disciplines and principles discussed for guaranteed success in business growth demonstrate how the author has earned his current status.

I found no negative aspects in the book. However, the author could have avoided the use of many complex sentences.

The book's editing is professional but not exceptional. I found some typos. However, considering the positive aspects mentioned, I happily rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

I highly recommend this book to all readers who are interested in expert guidance and advice for their business, company, or group of companies.
