Examining life’s mysteries and purposes: It's a human tendency that we accept things only when they are as we want them to be. To find peace, we must accept reality and respond accordingly. When we forget our purpose, we become more self-centered and destructive. The author quotes biblical references, stating that "God is our everlasting light." When people become selfish, they bring darkness into the world.

“God reveals himself only to the person who wants to know him.” He is close to a person who seeks him. He has given us all independence to make our own choices. The author quotes from several books about God as the comforter and Satan as the cheater or deceiver. The author insists that the only thing that will keep God near us is keeping sin far away from us. God wants us to be sin-free; he gave his own son to die and take the blame for the sins of humanity. Through his sacrifice, none of us need to experience hell.

The author guides us with the initial step to surrender to God by believing in him, understanding ourselves, and surrendering to him, asking for forgiveness. When we get closer to God and stay near him, Satan can never get near us at all.

The book ends with all the mind-boggling questions of day-to-day living answered in the most loving, godly way. This book helped me see a different perspective of how God works in our life.
