Thomas Richard Spradlin shared his recollection of a time in 1976 when he was recruited to find a missing person in Quest: Finding Freddie. Mr. Spradlin is a well-respected lawyer from New York. When a major international client, Frederick Nachman or Freddie, goes missing in Nigeria, his law firm suggests that Mr. Spradlin go to Nigeria and investigate. With past military training, an impulse for adventure, and no help from the U.S. Embassy, Mr. Spradlin agrees and starts forming an intricate plan immediately. Richard Spradlin will need a lot of luck and money to recover Freddie, dead or alive.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this exhilarating piece of non-fiction. The author does an amazing job of explaining his experience in great detail. I could envision the characters and each scene easily. I liked how the author added educational information and fun facts about the countries he visited. I learned a lot about Nigeria like the Dimka coup, the economy, and the different languages like pidgin English.

This story started a little too slow for my liking. After the first few chapters I remember thinking, "This is going to be boring." But, I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. Once the search for Freddie officially started, it was hard to put the book down. I loved how I never knew what was going to happen. The author's writing style made me feel like I was there in the moment.

For the reasons listed above, I, enthusiastically, rate this book a 5 out of 5. I have nothing to critique. The book is professionally edited.

I would recommend this novel to the majority of readers of various genres. I think it is an all-around good book. There is mystery, action, and adventure along with it being a true story and discussing historical events. This book does include some sexual content and profanity.
