I would give this book a 5/5. The author focuses on the specific topic of Niching Up and explains everything in great detail. He begins with a background story about himself, his education, and how he got started with niching up. He talks about his first successful business and details his subsequent failures. The author prefaces the book by acknowledging that niching may not be for everyone, which I felt showed integrity on his part.
He does a wonderful job listing all the pros and cons of niching. He explains how to get started with niching up and how to proceed from there. I found the information provided to be very helpful, serving as a great guide for anyone interested in niching up. His use of analogies helped me, a novice on the subject, understand niching better.
Throughout the book, he references movies (including Star Wars!), sports, and other entrepreneurs and businesses, making it easy to relate to his explanations. The author manages to sneak in a good amount of humor into a largely educational book, often sharing his own experiences, which makes the reader feel more connected and invested in learning more.
The book is well-written and free of grammatical errors. One memorable quote from the book is, “You’re not the Jack of many trades but the master of one,” which I feel is a great saying to live by, even if you're not planning on niching up. I couldn’t find any negatives with this book. Generally, educational books can be slow reads, but the author has done an amazing job making this book both interesting and relatable.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking to niche up, but I would also recommend it to novices who know nothing about niching up and just want to expand their knowledge base. This is one of the best non-fiction books I've ever read, offering valuable insights and lessons.
